Migrating partitioned compressed tables

We are on MySQL 5.6 using partitioned InnoDB Barracuda tables with row_format=compressed and key_block_size=8.The biggest table is pushing 300G.

We’re considering migrating to 10.2. Based on the documentation it looks like we should do an in place upgrade to 10.0 then upgrade to 10.1 followed by 10.2. Or are we better off just going to 10.2 via MySQL dump and load data infile method? Do the compressed tables make our migration more difficult?
