MaxScale Free Version

I would like to confirm whether the MaxScale is only free up to 2.0 version (with less than 3 instances). Google result w/ notes in 2016.

Actually, I would like to develop a platform on top of MariaDB with scale. If it is only able to do MaxScale 2.0 / beta, I may give up and take the legacy approach with MariaDB+Gallera. Please suggest. Thanks in Advance.

You can confirm for each version by looking at the license file in the source. At the time of writing, the latest version of MaxScale 2.2 has reverted from the BSL to the GPL: https://github.com/mariadb-corporation/MaxScale/blob/2.2/LICENSE.TXT Latest versions of 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 and 6 have not.
