Data Masking by Roles
Reading your documentation, it would appear that I apply data masking by users. Is it possible to apply (in particular the exemptions) by database role?

If you are referring to the masking filter in MaxScale then the answer would be no. If you think this would be a good feature, please submit a feature request on the MariaDB Jira.
