Breaking changes per every new subversion?

Hello all,

Given that MariaDB 10 -> 10.1 -> 10.2 -> 10.3 all require incremental updates rather than a cumulative update path, I was wondering if it can be expected in the future that every consecutive subversion after 10.3 will similarly require an update as an individual step. I understand the need for this between database versions--especially after breaking free from mysql--but requiring subversion updates every time adds a lot of needed effort when it comes to supporting multiple client systems that use our product. I was wondering if the table formatting or what-have-you that requires these incremental updates will stabilize in the near future or after 10.3.

Thanks!
