What's the difference between a distro-specific package and generic linux-x86_64
Looking for patching options now that RHEL7 is not supported and we cannot upgrade to RHEL8 at this time.
We are currently running mariadb-10.6.19-rhel-7-x86_64
we are considering installing mariadb-10.6.20-linux-systemd-x86_64.
Are there any significant risks with installing the generic Linux package? What specifically should we test for?
I understand that I will have to install in /usr/local and adjust PATH, and startup scripts, etc.
The server is dedicated to a WordPress installation.
Thank you
