Database version on master-slave replication

Hello Everyone, Does both master-slave database servers should have the same version of MariaDB or can it be different?

how about Galera Clusters with the master-master servers, MariaDB should be same on all the nodes of cluster or can be different.

Thanks Sundeep

No, they don't need to be the same version. However, you usually want the master to be an older version than the slave. See Setting Up Replication#Versions. For Galera, you need to check that the Galera versions are compatible. See Upgrading Galera Cluster for specifics on each version.
